Mount Moreland Conservancy Country Fair
The Return of the Swallows Country Fair was held at Mount
Moreland Village Green on Saturday 24 October 1998.This year this spectacular annual birding event, to welcome
back the hundreds and thousands of Barn Swallows to the area, was
even bigger and better as was held in conjunction with a Country Fair.
The Fair began at 10am. Stalls sold all manner of country crafts and produce from indigenous plants, artwork's,
home bake goodies, ceramics, wood and iron work, life size dolphin cast and much, much more. There was plenty to
eat with a lamb on the spit, boerewors rolls and breyani with many other tasty treats available. Special
attractions included pony rides, a jester, Durban Bat Interest Group with live bats and bat homes, a birding walk
and country music and Local tribal dancing.
A fun filled day was enjoyed by all and the grand finale was the arrival of the Barn
