Fed up with the weather and gloom, tens of thousands of European visitors have flocked to Durban to take advantage of the warm summer temperatures.
Two weeks earlier than usual, huge numbers of migratory Barn Swallows have arrived at one of South Africa’s largest roosting sites situated at Mount Moreland, north of the city.
A festive event was held ‘ the Return of the Barn Swallows’ where hundreds of spectators attended to witness and welcome back these most welcome visitors.
The weather was great for the occasion and the Barn Swallows performed an unforgettable and memorable evening display, thrilling the spectators that had travelled from far and wide to celebrate this annual event.
